A graduate of DePaul University’s School of Cinematic Arts, where he studied directing and screenwriting, Sebastian Newell is a lover of all things adventure, action, and comedy. Growing up between Japan, China, and the U.S. with a love of both eastern and western movies such as Spirited Away, Your Name, LOTR, and Paddington 2 (yes, specifically the second one), Sebastian became obsessed with the idea of telling stories and building unique worlds that can be enjoyed by any age demographic. In his own work he strives to make the audience see the world with wonder as if they were a child seeing something for the first time. He is now based on the west coast working at Nickelodeon Animation on the Current Series and Development team, building out his career in telling stories.
